Blum - Moving Ideas for Sustainability

74 This year the Vorarlberg Future Day celebrated its 20th anniversary. Since 2002, once a year girls and boys between the ages of 10 and 14 have been invited to spend the day with their parents, relatives or friends at their place of work. On 23 June 2022, 70 children and young people visited us and got the chance to experience some of the specific jobs and individual areas of our family business. They even got some hands-on experience in “I’ll come too”: Vorarlberg Future Day 2022 Trials pay off Parental leave Number of girls who attended apprenticeship trials in relation to the number hired Total number of employees who have taken parental leave 401–3 the toolmaking department, where the young visitors eagerly punched out and assembled paper aeroplanes, which were then digitised and personal- ised in the design engineering department. They also diligently mixed foam mushrooms in the laboratory and created their own Nine men’s Morris game to take home with them. We are delighted to support this campaign every year and give children the opportunity to explore their parents’ workplace. From 2009 to 2019, our hiring rate for girls has increased more than seven-fold and re- mains consistently high.
